Etymology means a study of the
words’ origin or stories.
If you are
a teacher, you will use what strategy to improve student to understand a
use mapping and team work to assist my students in learning vocabulary.
3. If you're
an ESL teacher, would you share some of main suggestions on English VTL from
Teaching vocabulary is quite
boring and same for students. How to make it fun is not easy. So , if some
vocabularies have similar pronunciation with Chinese, that might absorb
students’ attention. I always ask students give me a
sentence as an example after vocabulary teaching.

suggest some ways to remember vocabulary?
That depends on different types
of students. For me, I always remind my students to read, spell, and memorize.
It can practice listening and spelling at the same time.

Actually, as the paper showed, there wasn’t any “result”. It was
talking about “the awareness” of cultural difference, metaphorical competence
and learners’ autonomy in vocabulary acquisition for students and teachers.
In Taiwan, quizzing is the most common way to examine students. In
my point of view, a good strategy is to motivate students in learning. I often
play games to help them. Then, they got to make a sentence for each. The step
can let me know they understand or not. Moreover, I will require them to write
a short story with the vocabularies. If there are some words, they haven’t
learnt yet, adding Chinese between is accepted.
According to my experience, I will start from 12. ( if the basic
ability is ready)
9.Do you have
any strategies to let students use right vocabulary in right condition?
Introduce the vocabulary correctly. Give them some examples first,
then let them offer their own sentence.
10. Do you agree the suggestions that mention in the paper is
Yes,Ｉdo. Especially, mapping and teamwork are suggested on my own. Otherwise,
if you want to increase the amount of vocabulary, you can try to understand
each word’s spelling rules. E.g. like – dislike.
